Reporting to Parents / Interviews

We aim to keep parents as fully informed on the achievement and progress of their children as is possible.

Early Term 1

Meet the Teacher evening – this is an opportunity to get to know your child’s teacher, find out about the learning programmes your child will be involved in, teacher expectations and classroom routines and to ask any questions that you may have.

Beginning Term 2

A written report will be sent home with the opportunity to discuss your child’s learning in an interview held in the same week.  This includes information about how well your child is achieving across the curriculum and key competencies and also identifies next steps in your child’s learning.

Beginning Term 4

A written report will be sent home with the opportunity to discuss your child’s learning in an interview held in the same week.  This includes information about how well your child is achieving across the curriculum and key competencies and also identifies next steps in your child’s learning.

Further conversations, interviews and meetings many be held during the year to address specific needs as they arise.  Please contact your child’s teacher at any time during the year if you have particular concerns or to celebrate their successes.

New Entrant Parent/Teacher Interviews:

After each New Entrant child has completed approximately one month at school, parents will be invited to have an interview with the class teacher. This will be an opportunity to discuss progress and development during the initial few weeks of your child’s schooling. At this time, the parents and teacher may formulate strategies so that the home and school can work together to provide necessary programmes for the child to achieve success and continue to build a positive attitude to learning. This interview may replace the child’s first written school report (depending on the time of the year).
